Since 1702 Ristorante Corona welcomes you as soon as you enter in the center of San Sebastiano.
The restaurant has always belonged to the Fontana family: for decades the guests were welcomed by Matilde but since a few years the restaurant is run by her daughter, Marta.
Before Matilde her father Giovanni welcomed the guests. Giovanni had inherited the restaurant from Luigi, called "Vigei" in the village. The history goes on in generations until the beginning of the eighteenth century.
Among the ancestors of Marta there is also another Giovanni He was the cook of Lamarmora and was decorated with a medal for participation in the war in the Crimea.
The restaurant, "Locale Storico d'Italia", has been visited by boasts among its patrons Gabriele D'Annunzio, General Cadorna, the publisher Ricordi and the cyclist Fausto Coppi.
In 2011 it was awarded by the Region with the title of "Piedmont's oldest commercial activity" and in 2017 the Chamber of Commerce of Alessandria gave it to our restaurant the award for Business and Economic Development.
